WHAT MAKES THE SOLLY BABY WRAP SO SPECIAL?

Created by mama of four, Elle Rowley, no detail has been overlooked. The high-quality knit fabric is custom-made and -dyed and boasts just the right amount of natural stretch. The Wrap is incredibly lightweight and breathable, allowing for comfortable babywearing in any climate year-round. And the even distribution of baby’s weight across the wearer’s upper body makes it comfortable to wear baby for hours on end. Learn more about the Solly Difference.

WHAT ARE SOLLY BABY PRODUCTS MADE FROM?

Our Wraps, Sleepers, Sleep Gowns, Swaddles, Crib Sheets and Knotted Hats are made from 100% certified TENCEL™ Modal, Lenzing's flagship brand for textiles. TENCEL™ Modal is a luxuriously silky-soft, sustainable knit made from the pulp of Austrian beechwood trees and manufactured right here in Los Angeles. Lenzing uses wood and wood pulp that is free of pesticides to produce their TENCEL™ Modal fibers and has partnered with a wide range of climate pledge friendly certifications. The finished product is incredibly lightweight, cool to the touch, and durable enough to be machine-washed (gentle cycle) and tumbled dry (low heat) without wearing down. Evaluations have shown that TENCEL™ Modal is twice as soft as cotton.

Our Loop Carriers are woven from 100% GOTS certified organic cotton to support extended babywearing. The custom-dyed cotton can be machine-washed and dried and gets softer with every wear.

All of our dyes are nontoxic AZO-, phthalate- and metal-free. We do not use flame retardants. Learn more about where Solly products are made.

WHEN CAN I START USING A WRAP WITH MY BABY? UP TO WHAT AGE CAN MY BABY BE WORN IN THE WRAP?

We recommend going “from womb to wrap” as the Wrap offers a soft, secure and serene environment that’s reminiscent of the womb (especially because they’re snuggled right up against your heart!). The Wrap can accommodate even the smallest of babies since it offers a custom fit every time you tie it on. While wearers of babies under 8 pounds need to take extra care to keep baby’s air passageways clear, the Wrap is ideal for caregivers who have been instructed to implement Kangaroo Care. The Wrap is designed for the first year of baby’s life or up to 25 pounds. Most wrap wearers will get the most use in baby’s first 9-12 months.

If you or baby have any special circumstances, we recommend connecting with your medical professional prior to wearing.

CAN I WEAR MY BABY FACING FORWARD OR ON MY BACK?

No. Wearing baby forward-facing puts too much pressure on baby’s spine and joints and increases the fall risk. It also puts extra pressure on the wearer’s back due to the angle of baby’s body.

Although our wraps have no added stretch, they are still considered “stretchy” wraps, and we therefore advise against back carrying.

CAN I NURSE IN THE WRAP?

Yes, absolutely. Once you and baby have an established breastfeeding relationship and are comfortable wrapping together, a few simple adjustments can make nursing in the wrap both easy and convenient. Watch a tutorial here and feel free to email advice@sollybaby.com for additional tips.

CAN I WEAR TWINS IN THE WRAP?

The Wrap is intended for just one baby at a time, but it can still be a valuable tool for caregivers juggling more than one babe. Feel free to email advice@sollybaby.com for helpful strategies for parents of multiples.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN YOU SAY YOUR CARRIERS ARE "HIP-HEALTHY CERTIFIED"?

Our Wrap and Loop Carrier support healthy hip and spine development throughout baby’s first year and beyond. They’re certified hip-healthy by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute, supporting baby in an ergonomic position, with baby’s hips bent so their knees are slightly higher than their bum with their thighs supported. (You'll often hear this referred to as the "M position.")

IS IT TRUE THAT A SOLLY WRAP WILL FIT IN A DIAPER BAG?

Yes! The Wrap easily folds into itself and tucks neatly into a built-in pocket at one end of the fabric. It’s compact enough that it can be conveniently stashed in a diaper bag without taking up valuable real estate.

DOES THE WRAP WORK FOR PLUS-SIZE WEARERS?

Yes! The wrap offers a truly universal fit for wearers of all sizes, including plus-size and petite.

MY BABY DOESN’T SEEM SNUG OR IS LOW, CROOKED, OR FUSSY IN THE WRAP—AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG?

Try three things: (1) Tie the wrap tighter, so baby ends up snug and secure. If after tying on the wrap you look at it and think, “How is a baby going to fit in there?” then you’re doing it right. (2) Make sure those straps stay flat and untwisted—this is key! (3) Double-check that baby is seated in the middle of each cross strap, as if in a hammock. This “deep seat” will help both you and baby feel more supported.

Still not sure you’re doing it right? Email a photo to our babywearing educator at advice@sollybaby.com for a complimentary fit check and personalized tips. We’re always here to help.

WHEN SHOULD I SWITCH TO THE LOOP CARRIER?

The Loop is designed for babies 15-45 pounds. The woven organic cotton fabric provides additional support for both growing babes and their wearers.

CAN I USE THE LOOP CARRIER FROM BIRTH?

Although the Loop is certified safe for use from 8 pounds, we recommend waiting until 15 pounds for the best wearing experience. For babes less than 15 pounds, we recommend our signature Wrap.

WHAT CARRY POSITIONS DOES THE LOOP CARRIER ALLOW?

The Loop can be used in a front-cross carry position as well as a hip carry position. Watch our Loop tutorials here.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE LOOP IS RIGHT FOR ME?

The Loop is available in two sizes: Standard and Extended. Based on unisex shirt sizing, Standard is recommended for wearers XS-L and Extended for XL-3XL. (Standard is 4 yards in length; Extended is 4.5 yards.) We recommend considering your frame and bust size—not height—when choosing a size. The only difference in the sizing will be the length of the fabric left hanging through the ring in the back. Feel free to email advice@sollybaby.com for sizing assistance! We’re happy to offer a return or exchange if your Loop is not an ideal fit, so long as the carrier is like-new (trying on is just fine!), unwashed, and with the original packaging.

HOW CAN I SCHEDULE A COMPLIMENTARY BABYWEARING CONSULT OR FIT CHECK?

Our on-staff babywearing educator would be happy to help you and baby get comfortable and confident in your Wrap or Loop. You can schedule a 20-minute virtual appointment here or email a photo of you and baby wrapped anytime to advice@sollybaby.com

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY SOLLY BABY PRODUCTS?

Wash Solly Baby products in cold water on a gentle cycle and tumble dry on low heat. Do not wash with clothing items with snaps, buttons or zippers, which may cause pilling or cause holes in the fabric. If your washing machine has an agitator, we recommend washing our products in a delicates bag. A tube sock can be pulled over the ring of the Loop Carrier for a quieter washing experience.

Pretreat any spots with a product containing enzymes prior to drying, which may set the stain. Do not bleach.

Avoid clipping anything, including pacifier clips, to our TENCEL™ modal fabric to avoid unintended holes.

For long-term storage, place Solly Baby items in an airtight container.

JUST A FEW REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD WEAR YOUR LITTLE ONE IN A SOLLY BABY WRAP:

It’s one of the best and easiest ways to promote bonding with your baby.

It can help reduce postpartum depression and boost milk supply.

It gives you your hands back to fold laundry, respond to emails, care for other children and more, all while keeping your baby close.

It helps to calm even the fussiest babies, especially those with reflux or gas. A pediatric study found that wearing your infant 3 hours a day can reduce infant crying by up to 43%!

It provides a womb-like environment for baby that makes them feel secure, safe, and comfortable.

The Solly Baby Wrap distributes the weight evenly all over your upper body without creating pressure points on your shoulders or back. It naturally supports your little one as well, without putting extra pressure on baby’s joints or spine.

It feels like your baby is giving you a big, sweet hug every time you wear them.
